About Adroit Cloud Consulting

Adroit designs, delivers, and embeds AI-ready cloud platforms for organisations that need to move fast without compromising security or compliance. We are engineer-led and outcome-focused, trusted by market leaders to cut through the noise, simplify delivery, and accelerate measurable returns.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Power BI Developer to continue and extend an existing analytics initiative for a key client. The focus is on building robust data models, improving performance across large datasets, and ensuring reliable reporting across live and archive data.

You will work across multiple existing Power BI reports, refactor and optimise complex queries, and integrate a range of API data sources. The environment is data-heavy, and the right person will be comfortable getting deep into the detail while keeping an eye on scalability and governance.

What You'll Do

  • Bullet pointOwn and extend existing Power BI solutions across multiple .pbix files and workspaces
  • Bullet pointDesign and refine data models to support complex analytical and operational reporting needs
  • Bullet pointOptimise DAX calculations and query performance for large live and historical datasets
  • Bullet pointRefactor legacy queries and datasets for scalability, maintainability, and reuse
  • Bullet pointIntegrate and visualise API-driven data, including domains such as Horizons, Faults, Maps, Models, and Seismic where available
  • Bullet pointBuild and customise visuals to support data duplication and data quality analysis
  • Bullet pointStructure and maintain hierarchical data models that can be reused across reports and subject areas
  • Bullet pointApply Power BI governance and deployment best practice across workspaces, datasets, and reports
  • Bullet pointUse automation or AI tools, such as Copilot, to streamline repetitive development and documentation tasks
  • Bullet pointCollaborate with client stakeholders to clarify requirements, prioritise changes, and validate outputs

What You'll Bring

  • Bullet pointProven experience as a Senior Power BI Developer or BI Engineer delivering production-grade reporting solutions
  • Bullet pointStrong Power BI skills across data modelling, DAX, performance optimisation, and custom visuals
  • Bullet pointDemonstrable experience handling large datasets and complex query pipelines across live and archive data
  • Bullet pointExperience refactoring and standardising existing Power BI assets for scalability and maintainability
  • Bullet pointConfidence integrating and shaping data from APIs and other external data services
  • Bullet pointGood understanding of Power BI governance, deployment pipelines, and performance best practices
  • Bullet pointExperience in data-heavy domains such as engineering, geoscience, or energy is highly desirable
  • Bullet pointAbility to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and challenge requirements where needed
  • Bullet pointComfort using automation or AI tools (for example Copilot) to accelerate development and documentation
  • Bullet pointAvailable full-time for the full 3-month term, with no conflicting roles or engagements

Duration & Scope

  • Bullet pointInitial 3 month contract focused on continuing and stabilising an existing Power BI programme of work
  • Bullet pointImmediate priority on performance optimisation, query refactoring, and consolidation of existing reports
  • Bullet pointSubsequent focus on extending data models, integrating additional API sources, and improving data quality and duplication analysis
  • Bullet pointHands-on role with clear deliverables and regular stakeholder touchpoints, rather than an advisory or part-time engagement

Why This Role

This role is a chance to have a very tangible impact in a short time frame. You will take ownership of a live Power BI landscape, improve performance and structure, and leave the client with cleaner, more reliable analytics.

If you enjoy taking complex, messy datasets and turning them into fast, trusted reporting assets, and you are able to commit fully for three months without other concurrent roles, this will suit you well.

Requirements

  • Bullet pointSenior-level Power BI development experience, including data modelling and DAX
  • Bullet pointTrack record of performance tuning and query optimisation on large datasets
  • Bullet pointExperience refactoring and standardising existing Power BI solutions
  • Bullet pointAbility to integrate and model API-based data sources
  • Bullet pointUnderstanding of Power BI governance, deployment pipelines, and workspace management
  • Bullet pointBackground in data-heavy industries such as engineering, geoscience, or energy is a strong plus
  • Bullet pointClear communication skills and the ability to work directly with client stakeholders
  • Bullet pointFull-time availability for a dedicated 3 month contract, with no overlapping positions

Timeframe & Location

  • Bullet point3 month initial term
  • Bullet pointFully remote, UK working hours
