We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Cloud Network & Security Engineer with deep expertise in Fortinet (FortiGate) to support a key client project. This role is both strategic and hands-on, combining the design and implementation of FortiGate within cloud environments with upskilling and knowledge transfer to the in-house engineering team.

You will lead the Fortinet cloud security architecture and delivery, establish secure connectivity and replication patterns across clouds, and ensure automation and best practices are embedded. This role suits someone who thrives at the intersection of design, execution, and enablement.

• Design and implement Fortinet FortiGate firewalls in cloud environments, with a primary focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Align to the existing primary site design for compatibility while improving automation and operational efficiency
• Establish secure and reliable connectivity and replication patterns between OCI and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and where required across other cloud environments
• Move away from legacy click-ops towards infrastructure as code
• Leverage automation tools, such as Terraform, to streamline firewall deployment and management
• Improve cloud firewall architecture with scalability and compliance in mind
• Provide hands-on training and mentorship to the client’s internal team on Fortinet in the cloud and related networking practices
• Create repeatable playbooks and documentation to support long-term sustainability
• Collaborate closely with the client’s principal GCP engineer and wider infrastructure team
• Engage with stakeholders to align on timelines, priorities, and deliverables

• Proven track record as a Principal or Lead Cloud Network & Security Engineer with hands-on implementation experience
• Must have designed and implemented a Fortinet (FortiGate) solution in the cloud, end to end
• Deep expertise with FortiGate firewalls and their automation capabilities
• Strong background in enterprise networking, including L2–L4 routing, security policies, and firewall design
• Strong cloud networking experience, with OCI as a must and GCP as a core requirement
• Nice to have: Azure and AWS experience
• Proficiency with automation tools such as Terraform or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor teams with effective knowledge transfer
• Familiarity with regulated environments, such as ISO and enterprise or government contexts, desirable

• Phase 1, months 0–3: Design and implement Fortinet FortiGate in OCI, establish secure cross-cloud connectivity and replication patterns (including GCP), and ensure compatibility with the existing design
• Phase 2, months 3–6: Deliver training, knowledge transfer, and handover to the in-house team
