We are looking for a strong GCP Data Engineer contractor to join an Adroit delivery team on a live cloud migration. You will work alongside our Principal Platform Engineer to migrate nine source system ingestion pipelines from Azure Logic Apps and ADF to CloudRun and Cloud Composer. You will be operating within a Group-governed GCP environment with real constraints on what you can provision directly. We need someone who can work at pace, communicate blockers early, and produce production-quality pipelines.

This is a delivery role on a time-boxed engagement with a fixed go-live date. You will not be working in a sandbox. The pipelines you build will serve a live business reporting estate. There is no room for slow starts or sloppy handover. If you are a contractor who takes pride in clean, well-documented work and has done this kind of migration before, we want to hear from you.

• Migrate ingestion pipelines for nine source systems from Azure Logic Apps and ADF to CloudRun and Cloud Composer
• Support raw file storage migration from ADLS Gen2 to GCS, maintaining source-partitioned folder structure
• Work with the Principal Platform Engineer on Cloud Composer DAG design and with the Group Data Engineer Team for deployment access
• Assist with monitoring, logging, and alerting configuration via Google Cloud Operations Suite
• Support Bronze layer population in BigQuery, raw source data, append-only with no transformation
• Produce pipeline runbooks for each source system ingestion as part of the engagement deliverable set
• Provide second-line support cover for pipeline issues during a planned resource leave period (July to October)

• Solid GCP data engineering experience, including CloudRun, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Cloud Composer (Airflow)
• Experience building and debugging data ingestion pipelines for multiple source systems in production
• Ability to work within a Group-governed multi-project GCP organisation
• Familiarity with GCS bucket management and source-partitioned storage patterns
• Ability to write and review Airflow DAGs for pipeline orchestration
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with platform teams you do not control to unblock dependencies

• Prior Azure to GCP migration experience, specifically ADF and Logic Apps to CloudRun and Composer equivalents
• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification
• Experience with API-based ingestion using Apigee or similar tooling
• Familiarity with Dataform for downstream transformation awareness
