We are looking for a Cloud Engineering Lead to join one of Adroit's clients, a global independent price reporting agency covering metals, mining, agriculture, forest products and energy transition markets.

This is a senior technical leadership role, managing 3-4 Cloud Engineers while continuing to own and deliver your own technical workstream. You will report to the Head of Cloud Engineering, balancing hands-on technical work with full line management responsibility.

• Maintain visibility across active workstreams, proactively surfacing risks and blockers.
• Serve as the first escalation point for technical and delivery decisions.
• Set standards for quality, documentation and engineering practices.
• Foster a supportive, challenging development environment for the team.

• Conduct regular 1-to-1s and performance conversations with direct reports.
• Support career development through intentional mentoring.
• Handle difficult people conversations directly and constructively.

• Own and deliver your own technical workstream, applying strong engineering judgement across the team’s work.
• Stay current with the Azure and DevOps landscape.
• Represent Cloud Engineering in planning forums and cross-functional discussions.
• Build relationships with peer functions such as SRE, InfoSec and Data Operations.
• Communicate delivery status and risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Demonstrable depth in Azure — you have built on it, operated it at scale, and solved hard problems in it.
• Strong DevOps practice, including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and automation.
• Proven experience leading a technical team.
• A track record of investing in others’ professional growth.
• Comfort having difficult performance and feedback conversations.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
